Traversata
Traversata: Le mie conversazioni col Fiume Arno was an environmental installation created on the Arno river during a year of study in Italy, seen here as a photographic document. This installation, produced over seven months, was a series of collaborative “conversations” between myself and a river in a forgotten Tuscan canyon—secluded duets balancing observation and participation. It was a time of transition between my corporate past and my current artistic path. These images capture that crossing.
All the materials that made Traversata are from the river itself—ground brick, charcoal, mosses, grasses and lichen. These natural elements wash away with each rain, leaving neither damage nor residue. Once the river carries away the conversation, all that remains is memory.
